I have been in Second Life now for a little over a year and have experienced a wide range of business activities and opportunities. From the Summer of 07 to the year end I spent my time learning, experiencing and trying out first hand many various industrieis within Second Life. I believe that to become successful in something you need to understand every aspect of whatever field you choose to undertake.At this present date I have taken on a small business and developed it into something with great potential and I am here to introduce my company to you.
Business Overview
In January 2008 I was given the opportunity to takeover a small business, selling shoes and sneakers. I started with 5-8 ranges of sneakers for both male and female. Within the time from January to now I have increased my product range to accommodate for a wider variety and more diverse selection of shoes and sneakers, and I have also acquired rights to products including jewelery, accessories, clothing, skins, tattoos etc.I currently have an open space sim with a half a sim store placed and am in the process of product placement. After a grand opening event I hope confirm the alteration from the previous main store to the new one. New forms of marketing, advertising and general business opportunities will be looked at.
Business Strategy
In March and May I acquired two other companies which increased my product range to incorporate a wide selection of tattoos and clothing into my store.I am currently undergoing operations of merging these 3 companies into one, offering a business which offers a wide diversity of products to Second Life customers at high quality and affordable prices.
Business Strengths
Anyone who wishes to get to know me or to speak to those who do know me can ensure that I am a friendly individual with integrity and good understanding. I have drive and desire to succeed, but to also develop and learn. I always offer high customer service and aim to leave customers happy and leaving with what they came for.Research is essentail and in every aspect of business and speaking to the customers to find their needs are key to doing well in business.
Use of Capital
The decision for me to choose whether to become listed or not was not due to myself requiring funds for business operations. MiLOS Designs is not a start-up business and has been established for 7 months. I simply feel that at this stage it is time to look for potential investors who are interested in backing my company to ensure stability and to offer a need for finance should a highly beneficial opportunity for MiLOS Designs should arise in terms of investment.I am currently conducting trial periods of classified advertising where I am researching what would be the most effective cost to put for a classified ad. If successful I would like to use a small percentage of funds to use for effective marketing.
The rest of the funds will be kept in a reserve and when there are opportunities that may arise I will inform the shareholders about the opportunity and what action the company would like to take.
Risk Factors
Innovation within the SL community is MARGINALLY DEFENSIBLE from a competitive standpoint. Most successful SL product concepts are mimicked and/or improved upon by others rather rapidly. Creative Marketing strategies and continual product and process improvement is required to attain or maintain any level of competitive advantage within SL.If Second Life dis-continues its operation then this is something which beyond the level of control for any SL company.
