When the market gets shakey, the shakey go AAA. (.35/share now protected)

The safest place for linden in SL, even if it does not perform and generate a return, is in an avatar account. When a bank fails to issue interest or shows signs of instability, it will now be the policy of DGD to wait for the bank to find its feet again, then move some of the funds out into DGDProtected Allen.

That said, Banca Di' italia failed to issue interest for 3 consecutive days. The balance and interest were withdrawn and utilized to raise the balances of DGDProtected Allen to:

L$ 158,115

This is .35 for every share in the hand of public shareholders secured in the event of systemic collapse. In order to protect capitol value of the Fund, DGD also is announcing it's intention to hold back on a dividend release this monthly cycle as we await and evaluate market stability. Once things normalize we'll look at posting dividends once again. Keep in mind, this does not mean the company has yet taken a loss. Instead.. it means we're focusing on ensuring to the best of our ability this does not happen if things get any worse than they are now.

At this time, I'd like to compliment AVIX and ISE on weathering the gambling storm well. Allen's initial call to not allow any gambling organizations to list on AVIX has been priceless through this time. Unfortunately, some of the banks are not doing so well and the land market's (overall, not DGD's) is seeing adverse effects as the result of no-gambling policies. Personally, I'm hoping a regular paid gaming industry will rise where the Casinos fell. Gambling can be fun without the promise of returns and with a small fee paid as a game of skill versus a game with a payout and there are a lot more games outside of poker and craps that can be created in SL. Hopefully this is where the future will take us.
