The Strength of BAY
At $3/share, Bay is trading at 6.67 p/e with solid income and a good asset base.
Try and find that on wall street!

Andy was asking about the use of capital. I propose that in the short term most or all of it be put into an account to be counted as cash on hand. It would benefit the financial stature of the business as well as providing the flexibility of usage for the managers.

Re: Immediate Price Jump
I would say that the immediate jump in prices is closer to the true price of MLS than what we are currently at. It has very strong fundamentals, but I believe that investors are waiting to see the first dividend post as well as to see the first financial statement since going public.

If the balance sheet looks like what I am anticipating, $4-$5 a share is a good value for the this business. With so few public shares, good dividends, and good management, I can't imagine why MLS would languish at $2-$3/share.

Large Buy & Sell Positions Stagnate the Market
Maybe I am stepping over the bounds of conversation in this forum, but I want to speak on the topic of creating huge positions to either "backstop" stocks from falling too low, or "capping" stocks from going higher.

It does not seem to do any good for any body. When "backstopping" stocks, large investors can sustain an artificially high market. When "capping" stocks, it can keep the prices artificially low when demand would drive the price up.

I do not recommend any sort of regulations to stop this. I only ask that large investors spread their buys and sells with positions that are generally in line with size of the top buy and sell positions.

Comments on this topic are much appreciated.

Re: Board of Director Candidates
Bogart Beck is the best candidate. If he is willing, I believe he would bring with him not only a vast amount of credibility, but a vast amount of skill which would manifest itself in profit for investors.

Brittany Bay Resorts » Panic Selling
Panic Selling

Edited by moderator Nov 10th 2008, 00:37
When major investors put their whole position for sale and continually drop the price to attempt to guarantee liquidation, they can trigger panic selling by smaller investors.

Smaller investors wonder why such a major investor would want to drop his shares so quickly and with such fervor.

Major investors...please spread your sell positions!! By putting your whole portfolio of a particular stock for sale, you tip your hand quite obviously for all to see. If you were to spread your position over even just 2-4 positions, you make it an unintelligle sell from you.

It would be a true jump of faith to find who is selling at a particular time if you keep your sell orders smaller than the smallest investor on the "Top 10". This reduces the possibility of creating a panic sell because no one knows you are dumping your positions.

Unless of course you continually drop all your orders at the same time...

I'm just asking major investors to be prudent and be a force to stabilize their stock, not to destabilize.

NEW IPO...or not?
I was just looking at the IPO page to see how many shares of HIFI were left and I saw something interesting...

Mateo is coming out with a new IPO called Pheonix. Or is he? As soon as I saw that only 1 share was available, I of course considered buying it, but as soon as I refreshed for upto date info, the IPO was gone.

I think I saw a little slip up in the IPO introduction process, giving us all a little insight into new offerings in SL Capital.

SL CapEx Ticker (Desktop & With-in Existing Site)
I would like to challenge the new leadership of SL CapEx to create a ticker both on this site, and one for download. Instead of refreshing for information, your individual stocks could be tracked in a screen which could rest on investors desktops with options for visual and audio cues at changes in price.

I don't think that there needs to be the ability to buy and sell thru this display, just the ability to be alerted when your stocks have moved to your sell or buy point, or the bid has raised which might allow you to sell some positions.

Comments on this are much appreciated.
