General Investment Discussion » Midas the next... Re: Midas the next... |
|
| Touchy subject for me here considering Luke and I converse regularly. All I can say about it is that there seems to be information missing on both sides so no one besides the parties involved really knows what is going on. I do know that there were a few inconsistencies with Midas Bank long before now. Actually, I noticed them around the first few weeks Midas was on WSE but it was all speculation on my part. Nothing concrete. Even if the debt was not going to be paid, was the non payment of that debt enough to bankrupt Midas? If that one debt sent him into bankruptcy then there was something going on. To my knowledge Midas held about 10 million in debt himself so.....hmmmm I don't know but having the banks customers go dollar for dollar with OurBank just doesn't sound like "rape" to me. I would say the some extensive research should be done to come to a valid conclusion rather than opinion. |

| But ragged, that is like SL CapEx delisting JTIC....there will NEVER be fine lines as long as a bank runs a stock exchange. IRT Ise, There is not court system in SL so bankrupt = broke. |

| To my knowledge this is not enforced and I think that it would be due to so much calamity in the market lately. It's hard to hold a shareholder meeting when you are scrambling around trying to safeguard from fraud. I would not take it as SL CapEx not keep it's word. I would more say that stabilization of idiocy takes most of the village and SL CapEx is a sound villager. And idiocy I mean frauders. | ||

| Ditto Xav, not to mention, our of 150 shareholders, 3-5 usually show up....I think blogging is be the best way to capture the market. It's asychronous and spans time zones so that everyone is able to participate and see what is going on. | ||

General Investment Discussion » Midas the next... Re: Midas the next... |
|
| And the choir finally sings! Thanks Sky and iVentures. I noticed those same things in the beginning but I didn't delve into much after that. In all honesty, I think the convo went something like this (this is PURE speculation): Midas: We need like all that money from the bond now. Luke: But we have a payment arrangement. Midas: I know but we need it now. You have the money. Don't make this get ugly. Luke: Ugly? Well that isn't very nice. Why do you need to money so bad? Midas: Our reserves are low and I know you have the money. Just pay us already. Luke:/me facepalms "another bankrupt bank..." Midas: Don't give me that. Just give us our money. Luke: What keeps you from going bankrupt later? Your debts are more than I owe you anywany. Midas: Not your problem. Pay up. Luke: No. Midas: And the notorious Luke Connell strikes again...you will not get away with this. Luke: I am halting your companies since you are bankrupt and posting a message to the market. Conversion of your stocks will commence immediately. Please supply me with the records of your bank customers and I will make sure that they are compensated. Midas: WHAT? so you come out looking like the good guy? NO! You will not get the bank's records. What about the money you owe me? Luke: WSE is launching mainstream soon and I would like all companies to be up to par before doing so. Since you are now bankrupt, I will do what I can to alleviate the situation and move forward so no more money is lost. Midas: You are ignoring my questions. Luke: Feel free to email me those records. Have a good day. Midas: This does not end here Luke. I wanted to make it more hilarious but I figured this was enough. Just my rendition of what PROBABLY happened. There is not truth to this conversation. PLEASE keep that in mind. |

General Investment Discussion » VSTEX press release (6 November 2007) Re: VSTEX press release (6 November 2007) |

| *gives a round of applause for VSTEX* Anti-capistian does nothing but defame others to make themselves look bigger and making a land company purchase through the exchange sounds like loan sharking with the SL Al Capone. What's next? Protection money or you lose your avatar's knees? Thank you VSTEX for sticking up for yourselves and investors. Securities is not competition in my eyes either. Different exchanges offer different solutions and that solution is what works best for that business and that should be it. My God, I thought I had heard it all..... |

JT Financials Discussion » Re-Thinking Daily Interest Payments. Re: Re-Thinking Daily Interest Payments. |
|
| This is interesting Amor and the reason I went to calcs over a period of time. I saw that one person would deposit at 11:58 and withdraw everything at 12:01. The interest calculation does run on a period of time just like banks do where there is a daily cut off time. I don't see much of a way around that aspect of it to remain completely fair. A rotating time I think is a bit unfair and can leave too much in the air so the daily cut off time is best. I don't agree with daily interest payout on savings accounts and the only reason our CDs are daily is because there is a date of maturity. Daily payout have huge areas of manipulation and penalties may not be a fair way to go either because you never know what happens at the last minute for you to have to withdraw after you just deposited. Granted this should not be a regular happening. Point of time is probably going to be the best route but I think daily payout should be rethunk. |

General Investment Discussion » VSTEX press release (6 November 2007) Re: VSTEX press release (6 November 2007) |
|
| I would say having a 3rd party that controls and pledges the property maybe but to have the stock exchange control it is NOT objective and can lead to more problems as the stock exchange have vested interest in the companies that buy from them. Who says they won't manipulate price on that company to gain leverage? | ||
